My favourite place in the world. Looking across a rocky cove, always battered by roiling waves, to a rugged promontory, atop which sits an old tower, dedicated to Santa Lucia.

The cliffs and the promontory are painted in impasto style, with very thick paint. The shiny sky uses pigments mixed with a lot of stand oil. This painting looks at it’s dramatic best at home in the evening light.
